Siriporn Darnkachatarnさんが博士後期課程在学中に執筆した論文 がJournal of Flood Risk Managementの Outstanding Paper Award 2025に選ばれました。受賞対象論文は、バンコクの中心市街地における水害の被災エリアを過去30年にわたってデータベース化するとともに、衛星画像や浸水シミュレーションを用いて、水害リスクが経年的に増加していることを定量的に示したものです。浸水エリアのパターンが多岐にわたること、そしてリスクの増加傾向が2011年の大水害後も継続していることなど、土地利用のあり方やより高度なリスク管理を検討する上で重要なエビデンスを提供しています。Darnkachatarn博士は、現在Walailak大学のSchool of Public Healthの講師として、タイや東南アジアにおける水害や人々の健康問題について研究を続けています。
