Things to do in Kagawa 

Kagawa Prefecture is full of a wide range of attractions that can accommodate any visitor’s interests. For those that love the outdoors, the prefecture is full of natural and man-made beauty; surrounded by mountains on one side and Japan’s inland sea on the other; and is home to Ritsurin Garden, one of Japan’s most famous historical gardens. For food lovers, the prefecture is home to hundreds of udon restaurants, each offering their own version of this famous Japanese noodle dish. Art-lovers will find that Kagawa is one of Japan’s art hubs and plays host to the Setouchi Triennale Art festival, spread over 12 islands, with multiple exhibits and installations from Japanese and international artists. For those interested in Japanese history, Kagawa is home to its quarter of the Shikoku-wide 88 temple pilgrimage and is full of thousand-year-old temples and shrines, steeped in tradition. The prefecture is also home to Mount Yashima, which was a historical battle site from the Genpei War and stronghold of the Taira clan.
