This past weekend, December 3rd, the English Cafe hosted the second annual English Presentation Contest at Kagawa University. 28 contestants ranging from first year to graduate and international students took part. Divided into two groups, the students prepared their best slide shows and delved into a multitude of topics. After much deliberation and consternation, the judges awarded prizes to the top performers of the day. Each group had two third place finishers, a second place presenter and an overall winner. The award winners were given ¥1,000, ¥3,000 or ¥5,000 book vouchers respectively, redeemable in the school store. It was a wonderful display from many students who have put a lot of work into improving their English abilities. Keep an eye out for posters for next year’s contest if you’re interested in competing next time.
