Diploma Policy (Principles guiding graduation requirements)

The Graduate School of Law will provide students with a thorough understanding of law and political science through the acquisition of practical knowledge and research skills. Graduates will develop a sense of ethics and professionalism and an appreciation of such principles as justice, human rights, liberty, and equality. Students who complete the Masters course will acquire the following skills and knowledge.

① Professional knowledge and understanding Graduates will gain:
*An understanding of social phenomena and how to comprehend and analyze these phenomena, through the inculcation of advanced knowledge in the fields of law and political science.

② Skills as researchers and practitioners Graduates will gain:
*The ability to conduct research in the fields of law and political science, and utilize findings from this research in actual practice; this will be achieved by gaining a sense of ethics and critical thinking skills.

③ A sense of ethics and social responsibility Graduates will gain:
*The ability to contribute to social development through the establishment of a strong sense of ethics and social responsibility, including an appreciation of such concepts as justice, human rights, liberty, and equality.

④ An international perspective Graduates will gain:
* An international perspective grounded in an awareness of problems in one’s community, and enabling one to conduct high-level research in the fields of law and political science.
