IECMS holds various symposiums related to disaster mitigation, and through these symposiums, we continue to provide knowledge and information based on the latest research results to students and the local community. One of them is the International Symposium on Disaster Mitigation Research in Earthquake Prone Countries. This symposium invites researchers and students from overseas universities and public institutions in Taiwan, Indonesia, Nepal, and other countries that have similar levels of risk of a major earthquake as Japan does, to conduct the academic exchange. The symposium is attended by researchers from Kagawa University as well as other public institutions that are leaders in disaster prevention science and technology in Japan.
